Sealine International is to launch its new “flagship” Sports Convertible at this autumn’s Southampton and Genoa Boat Shows, according to a press release from the company. Following on from the success of the SC35 launched in 2007, the innovative SC47 is both stylish and extremely practical with all the hallmarks of Sealine’s modern design philosophy. With its distinctive hull form, Zeus drive system and spacious indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, the SC47 is a strong addition to Sealine’s range of sports convertibles.
The exterior of the SC47 is characterised by its panoramic sports windscreen and large opening roof system housed in a dark brown frame. Cable driven, the unique canvas roof has a manual and electric operating system which transforms the cockpit from wind in the hair boating to a fully enclosed space in seconds. Canopies for the rear opening are stored in purpose-built lockers and are easily attached from inside the cockpit.
Safety and efficiency were two key design parameters used in every area of the boat including symmetrical wide walkways on both sides of the deck.
The open plan cockpit is a social area for relaxing in style and comfort. There is lounge- style seating with extra wide cushions for up to 10 and a large folding cockpit table for al fresco dining. A dedicated cockpit galley, complete with all the essentials — sink, grill, fridge, ice box and plenty of storage, services this area.
A central stairway leads to the stylish, contemporary lower deck area which is flooded with light from a large skylight. Opening port lights provide plenty of ventilation. The generous cockpit is matched by the extremely spacious saloon which has comfortable seating for eight on wide plump sofas with a coffee/ dining table. The open galley is modern and fully functional finished in wood, glass and stainless steel.
The full beam master suite has an ensuite shower and toilet. A king sized double bed is accompanied by a chaise longue which can also act as an additional berth if required. A unique feature is the two large double port lights looking onto the water. There is plenty of storage in this light filled cabin.
The forward cabin has a large double berth there is a separate shower compartment on the port side and toilet compartment on the starboard side.
Light oak and oak veneers have been used throughout with leathers and natural linen style fabrics in neutral colours with accents of plum, lime green and chocolate brown.
The SC47′s new hull reportedly has the largest length to beam ratio for a boat in this size category. The wide beam gives the SC47 stability and its “big boat feel. The width and clean crisp lines of the design are geared to providing a safe and stable ride at all speeds. There is a choice of hull finishes — from white to Sealine blue, dark brown and yellow. These colours complement the distinctive and practical dark brown roof structure.
The SC47 has been fitted with the new Zeus engine propulsion system. Its 360-degree Joy Stick control combines high performance with exceptional manoeuvrability. Due to the compact nature of the new drive system it also allows for a much larger lower deck space. Fitted with twin Cummins MerCruiser Diesel QSB 5.9 425hp and Zeus Pod Drives the SC47 will be available from £366,000 including VAT.
