Wellcraft Adds Two New Models
Refined offerings boast features for serious fishing and comfortable running.
SARASOTA, Fla. — Wellcraft Boats has added the 270 Coastal to its popular Coastal series of boats, according to a press release from the company. In addition, the builder has added a dual-console 18-footer tagged the 180 Sportsman.
From the luxurious forward cabin to the seaworthy, full-height transom, the 270 Coastal packs big-boat punch in an easy-to-handle package. The boat features the popular port wrap-around lounge and starboard helm seat configuration with storage, sink and 42-gallon Kodiak Pro Flow baitwell and tackle storage below. A fully hinged storage box provides easy access to the machinery compartment below.
The standard hardtop includes spreader lights and rod holders. Four additional stainless steel rod holders are located on the gunwale with rod racks below port and starboard. Two large fishboxes with lift assist and overboard pumpout make it easy to bring home the day’s catch.
The 270 Coastal interior features a forward V-berth aft cabin, full galley, and enclosed head. The cabin has 6′ 4″ of standing headroom and is tastefully decorated in designer fabrics with wood-grain cabinets. A dinette table coverts to a full V-berth for additional sleeping capacity. Other standard amenities include Sirius satellite radio and Clarion AM/FM/CD combo, microwave, refrigerator, stove and sealed VacuFlush head.
This NMMA Yacht-certified vessel comes with a transferable ten-year structural hull limited warranty. The LOA measures 28′ 1″ with a 9′ 9″ beam and a 7,225-pound dry weight. The 270 Coastal carries 188 gallons of fuel and 27 gallons of fresh water. There are nine Evinrude, Yamaha or Mercury dual-outboard combo choices available from 400-500 h.p. total.
Popular options and upgrades include a 5,000-BTU air conditioner, dive tank storage racks, a 5 k.w. gas generator, 15′ Taco Grand Slam outriggers, four additional transom rod holders, windlass and ground tackle combo, an additional cockpit seating cushion package and a canvas package for the standard hardtop. Electronics choices include the Raymarine E80 or E120 packages, Raymarine auto pilot and a Raymarine Raydome or open array marine radar.
Customization options include three hull side color choices: Fighting Lady Yellow, Hunter Green or Midnight Blue, plus three cabin fabric choices.
The 180 Sportsman is 18′ long with an 8′ beam, providing a stable, roomy fishing platform. It carries 49 gallons of fuel to power one of three outboard choices: Evinrude 115 E-Tec, Yamaha 115 four-stroke or YamahaÂ® 150 four-stroke.
For the fisherman, the boat features two gunwale-mounted stainless steel rod holders and 52-quart baitwell standard. An optional fishing package includes a port-side pedestal seat/fishbox combo, raw water washdown and rod boxes port and starboard.
Water-sports enthusiasts will find ample storage throughout, including a large, in-floor ventilated locker and optional ski pylon.
For family comfort and entertaining, there are forward and aft seats port and starboard with backrests and removable cushions and a 56-quart cooler standard. Options include a Sirius satellite radio system with AM/FM/CD, a lounge/back-to-back convertible port seat, carpet package, bow cushion with backrest, Bimini top and three hull color options: Fighting Lady Yellow, Hunter Green and Midnight Blue.
A 20″ transom height, 20-degree deadrise, 15″ draft make this boat equally at home in the bay or on the lake. Overboard scuppers and level floatation add an extra measure of safety.
