The Hanse 311 had her US debut at the Annapolis Boat Show 2001 and she was immediately nominated for SAIL magazine’s Boat of the Year Award. Meanwhile she is one of the most successful Hanse yachts. The sporty 7/8 rig gives her excellent sailing skills and makes her a fast cruising yacht. With the single line reefing system and her self-tacking jib, the Hanse 311 is easy to sail and comfortable to handle.
The interior is fitted out in warm, mahogany faced marine ply. Forward cabin: Separated from saloon by a door, large double-berth (6’6″ long), locker and hanging locker in addition to shelves above the berths. Saloon: The saloon has two straight settees separated by a table with storage in pedestal, lockers and bookshelf. Navigation area with space for equipment and fuse panel for the on-board electrics. Chart table. Galley: Coolbox, two burner gas cooker with oven, stainless steel round sink supplied with cold water by an electrical pressure system. Lockers and drawers with ample storage room. Fresh water capacity of approx. 100 l. Heads: On port side is a head with a marine-toilet including a holding tank, a sink supplied with cold water by an electrical pressure system. Locker. Aft cabin: Separated by a door. Large double berth (approx. 6’8″ long) and hanging locker.
2x 12 Volt, 70 Ah batteries with battery switches. Navigation lights (bi-colour bow, stern and steaming light). Lights in forward and aft cabins, saloon, galley and heads. Compass, echosounder and log.
Volvo Penta MD 2020 3 cylinder inboard diesel, 14,7 kw (19 hp) with freshwater cooling. Saildrive. 50 l fuel tank. Engine hour meter, revolution counter. Seawater strainer, fuel filter.
Hull and Deck in white with blue boot top and cove stripe.
Deck has grey non-slip finish. Sandwich construction, hand-laid-up using Isophtalic resin. (Inside surfaces finished with topcoat.) Bulkheads bonded to hull and deck. Stringers and floors. Bilge pump. Self-draining cockpit with large lockers. Opening hatch in forward cabin. Teak on the cockpit seats, opening hatch in the aft cabin and in heads. 8 acrylic glas windows with alloy frames. Self-draining anchor locker with opening lid.
Keel and rudder
Cast iron keel with low centre of gravity. Stainless steel keel bolts. Semi-balanced, profiled rudder with alloy rudder shaft. Quality wooden tiller.
Rig and sails
7/8 two spreader anodised alloy mast and boom. Hanse single line reefing system (handled from the cockpit). Kicking strap. Stainless Steel standing rigging. Backstay adjuster. Internal main and jib halyards led aft to cockpit. Main and jib sheets. Mainsail with two rows of reef. Self tacking jib with traveller. Roller furling gear.
4 cleats, 2 combined halyard and jibsheet winches with leadblocks, 7 jammers, 2 self tailing genoa sheet winches, genoa tracks with sliders and terminals. Pulpit, pushpit with ensign staff socket, guardrails. Teak grabrails on coachroof. Sliding hatch with garage and washboard. 2 winch handles.
