SARASOTA, Fla. — Wellcraft Marine has added two new models — the 2400 and 2600 — to its Martinique line of motoryacht cruisers. The new boats are the most compact members of the Martinique family, which includes 28-, 30-, 33- and 37-footers, and will be available in early 2002.

Measuring 24’7″ long with an 8’6″ beam, the 2400 Martinique is available with single-engine power from MerCruiser and Volvo Penta. (One diesel engine, the Volvo KAD 32P, is offered for the boat). Fuel capacity is 84 gallons. The 5,750-pound boat rides on a 20-degree deep-V Step Lift II hull, which reportedly improves running efficiency and softens the ride in rough water.

The 2400 features a forward berth and an aft cabin, as well as an enclosed head compartment with a handheld shower. Its fully equipped galley includes a Granulon countertop with a molded sink, a single-burner stove and refrigerator.

The 2600 Martinique measures 26’6″ long and has an 8’10″ beam. A variety of MerCruiser and Volvo Penta single gasoline engines are offered for the boat, as well as two diesel (the MerCruiser D2.8 L D-Tronic and Volvo Penta KAD 32P) engines. Fuel capacity is 84 gallons. Like its smaller sibling, the 5,850-pound 2600 rides on a 20-degree deep-V Step Lift II hull.

Interior highlights include all those of the 2400 Martinique, as well as a microwave oven in the galley and the additional main salon space provided by the boat’s larger beam. The cockpit of the 2600 also features a molded entertainment console with a sink.

The 2600 Martinique rides on an efficient stepped bottom, as does the 2400 Martinique.
