Modern features abound in the vintage-look Symbol 42' trawler.

Some yacht designs endure, and the trawler is one of them. Seaworthy and stylish, trawlers never fall out of fashion. But that doesn’t mean your next trawler has to be filled with outdated amenities.

Take the Symbol 42′, which is slated to debut at the Newport International Show September 14-17 in Newport, Rhode Island. Without question, the 42-footer boasts classic trawler lines and, per traditional motoryachts, large cabins. But it also has a low-maintenance exterior, a spacious aft deck, a comfortable flydbridge with twin helm seats, a salon stairway that leads to a sundeck and a varnished teak interior.

Buyers can customize the trawler’s interior to their tastes. Options include two or three staterooms and an “up” or “down” galley.

For power, buyers can choose between twin engines or a single engine and a bow thruster. Deck fittings are manufactured from stainless steel. Fuel tanks are constructed of fiberglass.
